Discovery Expeditions rents kayaks in Telegraph Cove and Nanaimo during the months of June to Sept. After Sept you can rent kayaks only from Nanaimo

Transport Boat...

For those interested in transport service ( transport your gear and kayak to locations in Johnstone Strait and surrounding area) we do have a new 29ft Landing craft/Transport boat. Our transport craft offers convience that other water taxi services cannot provide.

Our boat with its unique design is able to easily land you on the shore with all gear and kayak. Rates are determined by distance and time and in general our Transport Boat is billed out at a costs of $300.00 per hour. Additional fuel charges may apply for the 2008 season

You will be provided with a Coast Guard approved survial suit while aboard our Transport Boat

Please note that rental boats and equipment are not insured by Johnston Strait Kayaking while in the renters possession

I CERTIFY THAT I AM AWARE THAT KAYAKING IS A DANGEROUS SPORT AND THAT I AM COGNIZANT OF ALL THE INHERENT DANGERS OF KAYAKING. I UNDERSTAND THAT TELEGRAPH COVE SEA KAYAKING IS IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF OR OF THE EQUIPMENT I AM RENTING .

I understand that Johnstone Strait Kayaking makes no warranty as to the fitness, merchantability, or suitability of the equipment. I am fully responsible for my own safety and for the equipment.

I agree to repair or replace in a manner acceptable to Johnstone Strait Kayaking any of the above equipment damaged prior to its return to Johnstone Strait Kayaking . If I fail to repair or replace such equipment, I will pay immediately to Johnstone Strait Kayaking Rentals the cost incurred in repairing or replacing the equipment as determined by Johnstone Strait Kayaking .

In consideration of being allowed to rent this equipment, I hereby personally assume all risks in connection with the equipment and I further release the renter, Johnstone Strait Kayaking , agents and operators from the liability for any harm, injury or damage which may befall me or any equipment used by me while I am renting equipment from Johnstone Strait Kayaking , including all risks connected wherewith, whether foreseen or unforeseen. I further agree to save and hold harmless Johnstone Strait Kayaking , it's agents and operators from any claim by me or my family, estate, heirs, or assigns arising out of my rental of equipment from the said Johnstone Strait Kayaking .

I further state unless indicated otherwise by my parent or guardian signing, below, that I am of lawful age and legally competent to sign this affirmation and release, that I understand the terms herein are contractual and not a mere recital, and that I have signed this document as my own free act.

I have had all medical examinations deemed necessary by me to assure myself of and assume my own responsibility for my physical fitness and capability to use the rented equipment described above.

I HAVE FULLY INFORMED MYSELF OF THE CONTENTS OF THIS AFFIRMATION AND RELEASE BY READING IT BEFORE I SIGNED IT.

 I agree to leave the appropriate damage deposit, plus pre-pay in full the cost of the rental. I agree to return the boat and gear in clean condition.
